Have you received your issue of the 2008-2009 God Encounters Magazine? It will go in the mail by September 1. We hope you are making plans to attend God Encounters this year. For those of you new to God Encounters, it is a heartfelt praise and worship, a casual, loving, and secure environment, speakers who address real life issues from a Biblical perspective, drama, testimonies, prayer, and relationships. This service for women of Calvary, their friends, and women of the community meets the third Tuesday night of each month at 7:00 pm in Calvary's Worship Center. The doors open for fellowship at 6:30 pm.

Join us November 6-8 for our Ladies' Hospitality Dinner.

When best selling children's author Sue Buchanan thought her life was over, it was really just beginning. Diagnosed with breast cancer and saddled with a grim prognosis, conventional thinking would have told her she was as good as gone. However, Sue is anything but conventional! Now, after more than twenty-two years cancer-free, Sue spreads her crazy brand of hope, and humor, wherever she goes.

What might have been Sue's epitaph was instead the catapult that launched a new world of opportunities. Her triumph over the disease; and her new lease on life, are chronicled in her book, I'm Alive and the Doctor's Dead, and that was only the beginning. Today she maintains a full itinerary of speaking engagements and has authored numerous other books. Sue encourages her listeners to face a crisis head-on, then reclaim their lives and come out on the other side enriched ... and hopefully laughing!

Friday, September 26, 6:00pm to 9:00pm or Saturday, September 27, 9:00am to 12 noon.

Hostesses may register on these 2 days only and at these times only. You can register in person in the Media Center, off the main lobby or you may register by calling 714-5585.

Tickets are $15 each, payable by credit card or by check. If you wish to pay by check, you must mail your check in by September 25 to Calvary Baptist Church, Attn: Women’s Ministry, 5000 Country Club Road, Winston –Salem, NC 27104. If you plan on mailing a check, you still must register as a hostess on September 26 or 27. Paying by check in advance does not guarantee you a table. Tables are reserved in the order calls are received during the designated call-in times. If you have paid in advance by check, please mention this when you call to reserve your table. We promise not to process your check until your table has been reserved. Paying in advance by check or paying by credit card makes processing this information easier for the committee.

General tickets may be purchased beginning October 12. They may be purchased from the Special Events Center in the main lobby on Sundays or by phone at 659.3510 ext 3005. Leave your name and phone number and a member of the Women's Ministry will return your call.

Tickets can not be purchased online.
